Whimsical Spring Wedding at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano
On the morning of their wedding, Angela and Lesley and their families joined together at Serra Plaza for a tea ceremony in the Lounge, then the wedding party headed to Mission San Juan Capistrano for group photos before coming back to the venue for the remainder of the day. Guests wrote sweet notes in the guest book, dropped off their gifts, and headed into the Courtyard to find a seat. Bentwood chairs were arranged in rows and the aisle was decorated with whimsical pink, white, and green floral arrangements. Framing in the Spanish fountain were organic white fabric installations, also decorated in spring-colored florals. Once everyone was seated, the music cued up and the wedding party made their entrances. In front of all their closest friends and loving family, Lesley and Angela recited their vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss.
Filet and Wild Mushroom Wellingtons, Crab Cakes, and Thai Vegetable Spring Rolls were tray passed during cocktail hour while the bar served up Pineapple Margarita and French 75 signature drinks. Everyone mixed and mingled inside the Lounge and outside on the Hidden Terrace until it was time to head back to the Courtyard for reception.
Tables draped in ivory bordered a white and brown checkered dance floor. Bud vases with single stems and funky floral centerpieces topped each table, and sparkling chandeliers hung overhead. The newlyweds made their grand entrance, shared their first dance, then took a seat at their sweetheart table. Summer Berry Salad was served and toasts were shared. The main meal followed with Vietnamese Braised Short Ribs and Honey Ginger Glazed Salmon with Gochujang Brussels Sprouts and Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. The dinner menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our event specialist, Patti. To end the meal service on a sweet note, the bride and groom cut into our Vintage Two-Tier wedding cake filled with strawberry creme and invited their guests to indulge in a slice. Afterwards, everyone headed back inside to dance the night away. Dances were shared, memories were made, and well wishes were shared with the newlyweds.
